Sudha Kongara's upcoming project with Sivakarthikeyan sees Jayam Ravi potentially playing the antagonist, marking their first collaboration
We all know that filmmaker Sudha Kongara started a project with Suriya, which was partly called Purananuru. However, Suriya had to leave the project, and with Sivakarthikeyan entering the film, new reports suggest that actor Jayam Ravi has been roped in to play the antagonist. However, an official confirmation on the film is yet to be announced by the makers.
Sudha Kongara and Suriya, who gave the critically acclaimed film Soorarai Pottru, was supposed to have joined hands once again for Suriya 43. However, after Suriya quit the project, it was expected that the film would be shelved. But looks like Sudha Kongara is going to team up for the first time with Sivakarthikeyan, who will be now headlining the film.
Now, the latest is that Sudha Kongara has managed to bring in an established hero to play the antagonist for the first time. Yes, Jayam Ravi has been speculated to play the bad guy opposite the Amaran actor, marking their first collaboration onscreen. An official announcement on the project is yet to be made. The upcoming project is expected to be Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film, who is fresh off the success of his Diwali release Amaran.
The film will have music scored by GV Prakash, in his 100thouting as music composer. GV Prakash had earlier revealed that the film’s production is in progress.
Sivakarthikeyan’s latest release Amaran has become a commercially successful project, by collecting over Rs 300 crore at the box office. A biopic on Major Mukund Varadarajan, the film is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and has Sai Pallavi play the female lead.

Produced by Kamal Haasan, Amaran opened to positive reviews upon its release. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. An OTT release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
