Writer, director Hanu Raghavapudi, who last helmed Sharwanand and Sai Pallavi's Padi Padi Leche Manasu, is back with another romance, Sita Ramam, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur (who her Telugu debut) in the lead. Ashwini Dutt has bankrolled the film under Swapna Cinema, with Vyjayanthi Movies presenting it. The film finished its principal shoot recently. A host of actors from multiple industries including Sumanth, Gautam Menon, Prakash Raj will be seen in supporting roles while Rashmika Mandanna makes a special appearance in it (as Afreen).

Oh Sita Hey Rama, the first single from the film, which has music by Vishal Chandrasekhar, was launched today. SP Charan and Ramya Behera hace crooned for the number lyricised by Anantha Sriram. The song glimpses through the romantic escapades of the lead pair, Dulquer and Mrunal, capturing the little joys and highs in their relationship. Mrunal, cast as Sita, appears to be a happy-go-lucky girl who's totally enamoured by an army man Ram, played by Dulquer.

The number tries to recreate the vibe of a quintessential Ilaiyaraja melody, with the pleasant visuals by PS Vinod and the terrific on-screen chemistry between the lead pair complementing the impact. However, in terms of the composition, though Oh Sita Hey Rama makes you feel nostalgic about the 60s and 70s, it doesn't strike a chord with a listener instantly. Yet, the song does indicate that the viewers are in for an intense romantic saga.

Edited by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, the film has production design by Sunil Babu with Sheetal Sharma handling the costumes. The makers of Sita Ramam are also producing two other interesting projects - a period saga, i.e. the second film of Srikanth's son Roshann and Project K, featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. Roshann's second film is directed by Pradeep Advaitham while Project K is the brainchild of Mahanati filmmaker Nag Ashwin.
