The period romance starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur will have a premiere in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages
There are high expectations on Sita Ramam, the much-anticipated romance directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur, to open big at the box office today. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema have left no stone unturned to promote the film on a grand scale across the Telugu states, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Vishal Chandrasekhar's music was a major asset to the makers' pre-release campaign. Will the buzz ensure noise at the ticket window too? We'll know soon.
The film is all set to premiere in the US tonight across several locations. A popular name in the distribution circuit, Radhakrishna Entertainments have acquired the rights for the region. The distributors are planning a grand premiere of Sita Ramam in three languages - Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil across the country at affordable prices. After Major, no stright Telugu film has succeeded in the box office after June. All eyes are on Sita Ramam and Bimbisara to change the dreary scenario.
Sita Ramam alternates between the 1960s and 80s revolving around the story of a soldier, Lieutenant Ram and Sita. Rashmika is also cast in a crucial role, as Afreen, a woman who's entrusted with the responsibility of delivering a letter of Lieutenant Ram to Sita. Sumanth plays the role of Brigadier Vishnu Sharma. Gautham Menon, Tharun Bhascker, Prakash Raj, Bhumika Chawla, Rukmini Vijaykumar and others form the supporting cast. The film's runtime is 153 minutes.
PS Vinod and Shreyaas Krishnan are the cinematographers while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor. Sunil Babu is the production designer and Sheetal Sharma is the costume designer respectively. Amazon Prime video has acquired the film's streaming rights. This is the Telugu debut for its lead actress Mrunal Thakur and Dulquer Salmaan's second straight Telugu film after Mahanati, also backed by Ashwini Dutt's Swapna Cinema.
