Singer Surojit Chatterjee was admitted to the hospital after food poisoning

Eminent musician and Rangabati-fame singer Surojit Chatterjee was rushed to a Kolkata hospital after he suffered from a bad bout of food poisoning. He was scheduled to perform at a show, Bangla Moder Gorbo, at Ranaghat. Instead, he had to be taken to a local medical centre on Saturday after he suddenly took ill. His family informed the media that there is no need to worry and that his uneasiness came from food poisoning.

Later, the Baranday Roddur-singer told a media house that he recovered and would be released soon. On Monday, he got back home.

Surojit also expressed his regret about not being able to perform at the show. The musician was scheduled to host a solo performance at the do. In fact, the information and cultural department informed us that Arijit Chakraborty would be performing at the event instead of Surojit.

Veteran musician Surojit came to fame with his immortal songs in the album curated by Goutam Chattopadhyay in the name of the Moheener Ghoraguli collection. Later, his popularity rose as he joined hands with Soumitra Ray in forming the Bangla band, Bhoomi. His song Baranday Roddur created a frenzy not only in Bengal but outside of the state as well. Surojit left the band due to some disagreements and formed his own band Surojit O Bondhura. Surojit has established himself as a composer in Tollywood.
