Silambarasan, who was last seen in Pathu Thala a few months ago, surprised one and all when he announced that he is teaming up with Desingh Periyasamy for his next project. Tentatively titled STR 48, it is being bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International.

The film was officially announced a while ago, but it's been a while since any update has been made from the makers' side. It is expected that the movie will be released in 2024. It is currently the only project the star is shooting for.

It is known that the actor underwent a body transformation some time ago. Though he lost a few kilos for Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu a couple of years ago, he again indulged in various fitness programs to further reduce his weight. A couple of stills of his from Thailand went viral earlier this year.

Now, a video featuring him doing various forms of exercises is doing the rounds on social media. His gradual transformation from a slightly obese person to a fit and trim version is seen in the video. Needless to say, his fans are thrilled to the core.

Fans eager to welcome the new STR

At the audio launch of Pathu Thala, the star said that he is all set to enthrall his fans with lots of surprises. He added that his admirers can now stop getting concerned over his career choices.

Maanaadu, which was released in 2021, marked his comeback. He followed it up with Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu in 2022, which garnered decent reviews. Though Pathu Thala received mixed responses, fans have high hopes pinned on STR 48.
