Team Pathu Thala after wrapping up shooting
Silambarasan's Pathu Thala was supposed to hit the screens in December, but the makers recently announced their decision to postpone their plans to next year. It is heard that the movie directed by Obeli n Krishna is likely to release in theatres around March. Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film's OTT rights.
The project, which is the official remake of Sandalwood film Mufti, has Silambarasan essaying the role of AGR, a gangster who controls a village and its people. He is playing the character Shivarajkumar has essayed in the original version.
Gautham Karthik, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Teejay Arunasalam will be seen essaying notable roles in the film which has music composed by AR Rahman. Silambarasan's previous outing, Vendu Thanindhathu Kaadu, too, had the maestro as its composer.
KE Gnanavel Raja has bankrolled the movie under his banner Studio Green along with Jayantilal Gada of Pen Movies. The actor has now come up with the much-awaited update on the film, leaving his fans excited. He has informed that the shooting of Pathu Thala has been wrapped, and posted a couple of stills of the team celebrating the occasion by cutting a cake.
He is seen along with Gnanavel and Obeli among the cast members. His Twitter post read, "Finally It’s a wrap for #PathuThala … Cant wait for you all to witness #AGR … Thanks to my whole team for all the support and love :) (sic)."
The actor will next be seen in Gokul's Corona Kumar and is likely to team up with Sudha Kongara for a project. The second installment of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, too, is in the pipeline.
