The actress made her debut with Muthaiah's Karthi-starrer Viruman recently,
Silambarasan and Aditi Shankar
Director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar was in the news a while ago as she made her acting debut with Muthaiah's Viruman which has Karthi playing the lead. Even as the film's shooting is yet to be completed, looks like the actress has grabbed another notable project.
It is heard that she is likely to play the female lead in Gokul's Corona Kumar which has Silambarasan playing the titular role. The movie is a spin-off to the director's Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead, which released in 2013.
To be produced by Vels Film International, the project is expected to go on floors after Silambarasan completes Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu which is also being bankrolled by the production house. The title promo of Corona Kumar was unveiled by the director himself in June 2020, but Silambarasan wasn't finalized as its lead then.
Three months ago, the team released CSK Singangala a title promo song, which was crooned by Silambarasan and Poovaiyar. Harish Kannan and Prasanna S Kumar will handle cinematography for the project which has music by Javed Riaz and editing by Pradeep E Ragav. It is expected that Vijay Sethupathi might play a cameo in the film.
Meanwhile, a few stills were released by the team of Viruman which included pictures of Karthi, Aditi, Saranya Ponvannan, Prakash Raj, Raj Kiran and Karunaas. The film, which is expected to be a theatrical release in summer 2022, is said to be premiering on Disney+ Hotstar after a month of its theatrical release.
Silambarasan, on the other hand, has Pathu Thala too, in his kitty. A remake of Kannada hit film, Mufti, the movie has Gautham Karthik, too, playing a pivotal role in it.
