Silambarasan and 2018 director Jude Anthany Joseph to collaborate? Here is what we know

Actor Silambarasan, who was last seen in Pathu Thala, has been working on various projects. While he has STR 48 with director Desingh Periyasamy on one hand, the actor is also part of Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. Now as per reports, a new project is said to be taking shape with an interesting director. Keep reading to know who it is.

Silambarasan to work with Jude Anthany Joseph?

If reports and social media buzz are to be believed, then Silambarasan is expected to join hands with Malayalam director Jude Anthany Joseph for a new film. While the project has not been officially launched, it is expected that AGS Entertainment or Dil Raju are in talks to back the film. If the project materialises, it will be the first time Jude Anthany will be working with Silambarasan and fans can expect a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual film.

Meanwhile, Silambarsan is set to star alongside Kamal Haasan in the latter's upcoming film with director Mani Ratnam, titled Thug Life. Silambarasan will be seen alongside Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Gautham Karthik and others.

Silambarasan also has STR 48 with filmmaker Desingh Periyasamy. The project, which is tentatively titled STR 48, is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan’s home banner RKFI (Raaj Kamal Films International). However, the grapevine suggests that RKFI backed out of the Silambarasa-starrer, leaving the film in trouble.

Jude Anthany last helmed the Malayalam blockbuster film 2018 which is based on the Kerala floods. The film is available for streaming on SonyLIV and OTTplay Premium.

The survival thriller stars Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Narain and Lal, among others. 2018 became one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time and was chosen as India's official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards. However, it did not make it to the final cut.
