Sidharth Malhotra to team up with Janhvi Kapoor for a romantic comedy film? Here's what we know

Sidharth Malhotra has reportedly teamed up with Janhvi Kapoor for a film. They were initially set to work on a gritty thriller but will apparently star in a romantic comedy now.

Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor to unite for a film?

Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has reportedly onboard Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor for a film. He intended to make a gritty thriller with filmmaker Tushar Jalota as the film's director. The latest development is that Vijan has apparently made fresh changes and set up a new film altogether. With the same director and star cast, a new romantic comedy film will be made. Sidharth and Janhvi's film has been tentatively titled Param Sundari.

Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor unite for a rom-com?

According to a Peepingmoon report, Tushar Jalota will helm Sidharth and Janhvi's film under Maddock Films. The major reason why Vijan went ahead with a new film altogether is that he and Sidharth realized the script had limited potential at the box office. They feel audiences now prefer to watch thriller content on OTT rather than in cinemas.

"They mutually decided to scrap the project and started exploring other story ideas with Tushar. After mulling over several ideas, they zeroed in on a romantic comedy, which Janhvi also liked and quickly came on board. It's the same team with a new script, finally ready to take off," a source told the entertainment portal.

Not much is known about Param Sundari yet. However, the movie may fall into the realm of family-centered romantic comedy. It will feature Sidharth and Janhvi showcasing sizzling chemistry. While the film is currently in pre-production, it will go on floors in November or December.

On the work front for Sidharth and Janhvi

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth was last seen in Yodha with Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna. The actor's film hit the silver screen earlier this year. He also featured in Rohit Shetty's web series, Indian Police Force.

On the other hand, Janhvi recently starred in Devara: Part 1 with Jr NTR. She will apparently start working on Param Sundari after finishing Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Keep following this space for more updates!
