Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani shared memorable experiences from the shoot during the Instagram live session from the former’s residence
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani came together to mark the one-year anniversary of the release of their film Shershaah. The actor went live on his Instagram account, with Kiara joining him shortly after arriving at his house. They both live streamed from their own personal accounts from separate rooms, talkin about the experiences from the shoot.
Sidharth and Kiara talked about their first encounter that happened five years ago, at a party organised by Karan Johar. During the party, Sidharth mentioned to Kiara about Shershaah. Eventually, he played the track Mann Bharya by B Praak for her, and this song was featured in the movie too. Kiara was as Dimple Cheema in Shershaah later and she apparently didn’t even tell Sidharth until she arrived for the script reading session, although he was aware she was part of the movie.
The two also talked about the fun they had making the movie. They recalled a sequence in the biopic in which Sidharth's Vikram Batra proposed to his love Dimple. This needed to be reshot in Chandigarh due to poor lighting.
Also, Kiara was reportedly on a tight diet at the time, but Sidharth persuaded her to sample countless different foods despite it. He explained, "I have brought some amazing flavours to your life and changed your palate," and Kiara answered, "My entire palate has changed since the shoot, thanks to you."
The two actors recounted their road trip to Vikram Batra's hometown of Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. At a dhaba, where the Student of the Year star was happily munching down food with a lot of ghee and oil on it, Sidharth revealed how he had Kiara break her diet. Kiara described the six-hour trip to the monastery, following which Sidharth replied, "Maybe I didn't mind the drive because you were there."
Kiara, meanwhile, mentioned that Shershaah had taught her a lot of things including riding a scooty and Punjabi language. “It was a very special film,” she added.
Shershaah which also stars Nikitin Dheer, Shiv Pandit and Sahil Vaid, dropped directly on Amazon Prime Video. The Vishnuvardhan-directed movie was based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who gave his life in the 1999 Kargil War. He received the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest bravery honour.
