Takkar, starring Siddharth, is set to hit the cinemas on June 9, and the streaming rights for the film have already been acquired by a prominent OTT platform.
Tamil actor Siddharth is upbeat about his upcoming movie Takkar, which he claims will redefine his onscreen image. He suggested that this movie will launch him as a full-fledged action hero as so far he has remained within the confines of a romantic hero.
“Those who’ve seen me as a lover boy will be surprised to see my transformation into a rugged avatar for Takkar. It’s an exciting experience," Siddharth said earlier .

Siddharth made his screen debut with Boys in 2003. Come August he complete two decades in the movie industry and he seems to be very sure that Takkar is the movie that his career needs right now.
“Many who’ve followed my career have always asked why do I restrict myself to genre-specific, character-driven and not try out and out commercial entertainers. Takkar is my answer to them," he said.
Karthik G. Krish has written and directed Takkar. As the movie gets ready to open in cinemas on June 9 , one of the leading players in the OTT has brought the film's streaming rights. After its theatrical run, Takkar will find its home on Netflix. Considering the current trend, the movie might become available for streaming about five weeks after its release in theatres.
Takkar is a youthful action drama. Judging from the trailer, the movie follows a romantic adventure between two rebellious youngsters. The lead pair, played by Siddharth and Divyansha, defy societal norms and lead unconventional lives on their own terms. However, their pursuit of freedom comes at a price, as depicted through intense chase sequences and thrilling hand-to-hand combat. Divyansha plays a young girl with strong feminine values and deep hatred towards anything that resembles patriarchy. The film seems to explore how these two individuals, with contrasting worldviews, manage to fall in love against all odds.
Takkar also stars Yogi Babu, Abimanyu Singh, Munishkanth and RJ Vigneshkanth.
