Siddharth teams up with Sethupathi fame Arun Kumar for a coming-of-age family drama

Director SU Arun Kumar, known for films like Vijay Sethupathi-starrers, Pannaiyarum Padminiyum (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), Sethupathi (streaming on Zee5) and Sindhubaadh (streaming on Zee5), is currently shooting for an untitled project which has Siddharth playing the lead in it. According to a report in TOI, the crew is busy shooting some crucial portions for the project in and around Palani.

The team which went on floors in December is now shooting for its second schedule. Madurai and Dindigul are other locations where they have shot so far for the movie. However, the makers are yet to reveal about the film's genre.

Arun Kumar said that he has been planning a project with Siddharth for a long time, but they joined hands only now for a story which they hope will impress the audience. Though Arun and Siddharth decided to go on floors in 2020, the pandemic spoiled their plans and the duo had to wait till the end of last year.

Vijay Sethupathi, Arya, Aditi Rao Hydari and Ram Pothineni among others unveiled the project with a video and a poster which features a father and his school-going daughter holding each other's hands. Going by the announcement poster and video, it looks like the project is a breezy coming-of-age drama.

Etaki Entertainment, which has bankrolled Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), Jil Jung Juk and Aval (streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinema), has produced the movie. The details regarding its cast and crew will be announced later. If everything goes well as per plans, the makers are eyeing a theatrical release this year.

Siddharth, who was last seen in Telugu flick Maha Samudram (streaming on Netflix), had his last release in Tamil three years ago. Sai Sekhar's Aruvam (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was his previous Kollywood outing.
