Ayalaan, starring Sivakarthikeyan, is scheduled to be released in theatres during Pongal 2024.
An eagerly-awaited update from Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming science fiction film Ayalaan is here. The voice behind the titular alien character has been a buzz on social media for quite a few days, as it has been speculated that a big star from Kollywood is behind it. Now, the makers have revealed who that actor is: Chithha star Siddharth. This is not the first time that the versatile actor has lent his voice to a film. He had previously lent his voice to Simba in the Tamil-dubbed version of The Lion King (2019).
Siddharth joins the cast of Ayalaan
The makers of Ayalaan took to their social media handles to share a picture of Siddharth along with director Ravikumar with the caption, “Thank you Actor Siddharth for being a part of Ayalaan and giving life to our cosmic Neighbour. Every bit of enthusiasm, commitment and hard work you've given has made our Ayalaan more realistic and lovely. And we hope the audience will love your work as much as we did.” (sic)
How Ayalaan the alien, was created using CGI
Unlike the traditional approach of using prosthetics to transform a human actor into an alien, in Ayalaan, the character was entirely generated using visual effects. While shooting, the filmmakers used a young boy as a stand-in for the alien to allow Sivakarthikeyan to have a point of reference. Ravikumar had previously mentioned that synchronising this on the visual effects screen was a notable challenge.
Cast and crew of Ayalaan
Produced by KJR Studios and 24 AM Studios, Ayalaan boasts a star-studded cast, including Rakul Preet Singh, Isha Koppikar, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu and Karunakaran. AR Rahman has scored the music for the film, with cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Gopi Prasanna. The film's audio launch is slated to be held on December 26, and the film is gearing up for a Pongal 2024 release.
Siddharth’s upcoming endeavours
Meanwhile, Siddharth, who was last seen in the hit thriller drama Chittha, is currently shooting for the Tamil film The Test, along with R Madhavan and Nayanthara.
