South star Siddharth says men can watch Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, but not Chithha. Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has not reacted to Siddharth’s comment yet.
Siddharth (L), Ranbir Kapoor in Animal
South star Siddharth has been making headlines recently since Aditi Rao Hydari announced their engagement in Telangana on social media, putting an end to the rumours of a secret marriage. The couple successfully kept their long-term relationship low-key for all these years. Although they posted several pictures from time to time, their engagement news surprised their fans.
However, another piece of news about Siddharth that has been going viral these days is his comparison of Ranbir Kapoor's Animal with his last film Chithha. Both were released in 2023; while Ranbir Kapoor's film was a massive success, Chithha was well-received by the critics and was also commercially successful. But one thing that stunned Siddharth is that the Indian male audiences are not impressed with Chithha. Rather they constantly informed Siddharth and director SU Arun Kumar that they found the film very disturbing.

Recently at the JFW event, Siddharth shared that no female audience commented anything ever about Chithha, but it was always the male audiences who said they could not watch a film like this. This incident shocked the Rang De Basanti actor so much that he couldn't help but compare his film with Animal. He stated a violent film like Mirugam (Animal) can be well received by these men, but they find Chithha disturbing, However, he soon concluded the topic by saying that he understands that it's not actually disturbing them, rather they are feeling extremely ashamed and guilty.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga has not reacted to Siddharth’s comment yet. As it's known to all, the Animal director is very outspoken. Vanga never missed a single chance to give befitting replies to bash other celebrities or even the audiences, whoever shared their hatred towards Animal.
The story of Chithha revolves around Eshwar, whose nickname is Chikku. Chikku's life turns upside down when his beloved niece vanishes without a trace and he sets out in search of her. As Chikku delves deeper into the search, the film depicts the extraordinary extent he is willing to go to bring back his niece.
Chithha is available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
