The trailer of Sibiraj's Maayon was released today on YouTube
The trailer of Sibiraj's upcoming offering Maayon was released on YouTube today. The film, which is said to be a mystery thriller and has Tanya Ravichandran playing the leading lady. Maayon is directed by debutant Kishore N and the plot revolves around an archaeologist who sets out to discover intriguing details behind an old temple which is almost 5,000 years old and tries to uncover secrets, including why one shouldn't enter it after 6pm in the evening.
In the trailer, we see the actors discussing how things in the temple are beyond science itself. To which, Radha Ravi says that divinity shouldn't be researched, but felt deep inside one's body. Going by the trailer, it looks like there will be lot of adventure in store. Sibiraj had earlier stated that Maayon will be a first-of-its-kind movie in Tamil. The makers had said that an unusual incident inside a temple was the driving force to come up with the script.
The rest of the star cast for Maayon includes Radha Ravi, KS Ravikumar, Bagavathi Perumal and Hareesh Peradi to name a few. Ilaiyaraaja has composed the music for the mystery thriller. While Ram Prasad has cranked the camera, editing is by Ram Pandian and Kondalarao. Billa Jegan has choreographed the stunt sequences and Vnodh JD has handled the VFX sequences. The shoot for the film was wrapped up three years ago and the pandemic and many others factors kept pushing the release date of the film.

The team had first released the trailer in theatres along with Kamal Haasan's recent release Vikram on June 3. Vikram is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and the film has an ensemble star cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Suriya, Narain, Arjun Das to name a few. Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander.
