Siberia stars Keanu Reeves and Ana Ularu in the lead roles as Lucas Hill and Katya, respectively. A follow-up to the 2016 Sundance hit Frank and Lola the story centers around Lucas, an American diamond trader who travels to Russia to carry out a shady deal for rare blue diamonds. When his business partner goes missing, the thriller aspect kicks in. Meanwhile, Lucas finds himself falling in love with a Siberian café owner, Katya. As Katya’s family turns against Hill and the dangerous men he is associated with, his world begins to crumble, and survival becomes increasingly difficult. The movie is now set to hit Lionsgate Play, marking its digital re-release.

Lionsgate Play has been releasing some of the most intriguing films over the last few months. In July alone, the streamer offered Room Logan Lucky, The Arcadian, Replicas, Adrift, and The Iron Law. Before that, titles such as Dream Scenario, Copshop, BMF, and more were added to its impressive roster. With Siberia now joining this list, it is all set to release on the streaming platform. Keanu Reeves on Acting and Producing Siberia

In an interview with IndieWire Keanu Reeves spoke about his experience producing Siberia. “It was a script that I helped develop, so it was dear to me in a different way, and that’s part of the reason why I was a producer on it. Creatively, it was challenging because of the tones it mixes — it’s a thriller, it’s a romance, there’s some comedy, not quite comedy but humor in it, so I was really interested in the tonal complexity and ambition,” Reeves explained.

He also discussed the challenge of juggling both acting and producing on the same project. “They’re not separate, they’re connected,” Reeves said. “It’s kind of like the actors and actresses are performing in the house, and the producer is building the house they’re performing in, or the set, or the stage, or the world. In the past decade, I’ve been trying to support building nice houses.”
