Shoorveer: Makarand Deshpande says his role in Disney+Hotstar series helped him ‘improve as a person’

Shoorveer promises to be a memorable tale of patriotism where elite heroes of the country come together to protect their motherland. Makarand Deshpande will be seen essaying a prominent role in the Hotstar Specials show. The actor recently opened up about the preparation he did for the role.

In a statement, the actor spoke about how it wasn't just the physical aspects he had to prepare for but also maintain the discipline, temperament, sharpness, intelligence and responsibility of his character, in addition to the physical attributes. Deshpande called it one of the most difficult aspects of performing such characters. As a commando, the character had to make some tough decisions and that was when Deshpande really had to look ‘responsible enough’. “It was also trusting myself, and I would say while performing this role, I improved as a person,” said the actor. He also thanked his director, writer and the whole team behind the film responsible for his role in Shoorveer.

Shoorveer revolves around the story of an elite task force, which is created to protect the country from threats and serve as the nation’s first responder team. In addition to showcasing how the team prepares itself for their duty, the show also explores the relationship between the teammates.

In addition to Deshpande, the upcoming series also stars Manish Chaudhari, Regina Cassandra, Arif Zakaria, Faisal Rashid, Armaan Ralhan, Aadil Khan, Abhishek Saha, Anjali Barot, Kuldeep Sareen, Sahil Mehta, and Shivya Pathani, among others, in prominent roles. The series was helmed by Kanishk Varma, from a script written by Mayank. Samar Khan has created the series. The show was bankrolled under the banner of Juggernaut Productions.

Shoorveer will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from July 15, 2022. The series can be streamed in Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali.
