Actor Rio Kapadia passes away; succumbs to cancer

After having been a part of many memorable films and TV shows, cctor Rio Kapadia passed away today due to cancer

Well known actor Rio Kapadia passed away today after a prolonged battle with the dreaded cancer. Many of you may know him from films like the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Chak De India’ (how can anyone forget the heart-stirring commentary that he gave in the film), Aamir Khan’s smash hit film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Happy New Year’, Vidyut Jamwl’s ‘Khuda Hafiz’ and many more. The actor’s customary last rites will be held in a manner in Goregaon (Mumbai) tomorrow (Friday).

Happy go lucky nature

Always a person to sport a magnetic smile on his face, the 66-year-old Rio Kapadia was always known to be a happy-go-lucky kind of person in the industry. The actor, who had been battling the dreaded cancer for a long time, was last seen in the Amazon Prime Video series ‘Made in Heaven Season 2’ as Mrunal Thakur’s father.

A prominent name in TV as well

Besides Bollywood, Rio Kapadia was an equally prominent face in TV serials as well. Testimonies of his acting prowess can be seen in serials like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Judwa Raja Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Kutumb and many others. Not many may be aware of the fact that Rio Kapadia was a gifted artist as well. He was a thorough pro in his work as a sketch artist. Time and again, Rio Kapadia always used to share his artistic works on social media. One look at his work, one can see his sketches of legendary actors like Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Rishi Kapoor, Sridevi and many others.
