Kannada filmmaker Shashank Talya’s next, Kousalya Supraja Rama, is, according to him, the ‘Tale of a Real Man’ – something that he has not elaborated on since. All he has said throughout is that his film will provide the true meaning of what it means to be a man. Then, shortly after revealing the first look of leading man Darling Krishna, Shashank proceeded to announce the first single from the film, for which he made a teaser.

This teaser, which had Krishna still ‘in character’ even after wrapping up the film, hinted at him being an obnoxious alpha male, who had to have his way in everything. It also featured Shashank explaining that the first song, for which he was revealing the whole video, would provide an insight into Krishna’s and leading lady Brinda Acharya’s characters, while also setting the tone for what the film is like.

The song, ‘Shivani’, is out now and Shashank has lived up to what he promised to show. Releasing the song, he wrote, “A romantic song to those who just watch it! A teaser to those who really observe!!” The song is an exploration of how being in love changes Rama (Krishna), who was an alpha male until then. A nice melody with explanatory lyrics, the song is made even better by the lead couple. Krishna, with the twirled moustache and beard look and stylish hairdo looks like a breath of fresh air, after multiple films with the same onscreen avatar. The fresh pairing with Brinda also looks interesting and it remains to be seen how that pans out in the film.

Speaking to OTTplay earlier, Shashank had said, “Kousalya Supraja Rama has a love story and Krishna is paired with Brinda Acharya, but the crux of the narrative revolves around the mother-son relationship – between Kousalya, played by Sudha Belawadi, and Rama (Krishna).”
