Anupam Kher's latest theatrical release, Shiv Shastri Balboa, directed and written by Ajayan Venugopalan and also starring Neena Gupta, Jugal Hansraj, Nargis Fakhri, and Sharib Hashmi in important roles, is now available to stream on OTT.

The film is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.

Shiv Shastri Balboa is among the critically acclaimed films of the year that received positive reviews. The film centres on Shiv Shastri, played by Anupam Kher, who is a retired banker and a die-hard fan of the Rocky film franchise.

Shiv moves to the US to live with his son but ends up leading a lonely life, with only a dog for company at home. Shiv strikes up an unlikely friendship with Elsa, an undocumented housekeeper played by Neena Gupta.

Despite coming from different backgrounds, Shiv and Elsa, who are both plagued by loneliness, decide to go on an exciting journey through America.

Rockstar fame actress Nargis Fakhri made her comeback to Hindi films with Shiv Shastri Balboa. Speaking about her reasons for choosing this film to return to films, Nargis told OTTplay, "The story is so interesting and well written that I immediately found it exciting. It is an original story in which audiences will get to see America in a very real way. The film talks about everything from the location to the people and the social issues that people deal with. There are passport issues and issues of racism and immigration for people who go there to work. But all these issues are being dealt with with a dash of humour. These are the reasons why I had to do the film."

Shiv Shastri Balboa was released in theatres on February 10, 2023. Despite receiving positive reviews, it failed to get cash registers ringing at the box office.

Both the acting and making of the film were appreciated by critics, and the film is now hoping to find wider audiences on OTT.
