Shirley is Oscar-winning filmmaker of 12 Years a Slave, John Ridley’s Spring entree for viewers. The film chronicles the pioneering rise of Shirley Chisholm, essayed by Regina King, who not only became the Black woman to join the US Congress but also ran a brave Presidential campaign.
Shirley releases on Netflix this Spring, on March 22, 2024.
