Any project of Pratik Gandhi gets film lovers excited. His impeccable performances have wooed the audience across the country. And now, the Scam 1992 actor is all set for his first film on Amazon miniTV. The trailer of the film Shimmy was released today by the streaming platform.
With Pratik playing the protagonist, Shimmy is about a day in the life of a young girl and her father, as they head out on an unexpected shopping spree. The movie, which will be a coming-of-age story, also stars Chahat Tewani and Bhamini Oza Gandhi in pivotal roles.
The trailer for the movie reveals a movie that will explore a father-daughter relationship with a feel-good factor. Pratik looks settled in as a father of a teenage daughter and Chahat looks like she will steal the show as a schoolgirl with secrets.
Talking about the movie, director Disha Noyonika Rindani said in a statement, “Shimmy is a special movie for me. It is the story of an aloof father and a daughter with a secret and how they embark on a journey to some uncomfortable destinations. I wrote it with Jai Mehta, never thinking that someone would let me direct it one day."
The film is bankrolled by Guneet Monga and Achin Jain, under the banner of Sikhya Entertainment, who are known for content-driven films such as Pagglait, The Lunchbox and Masaan that won the hearts of people all over the country.
Shimmy is all set to release on September 17 on Amazon miniTV, where users will be able to watch it for free.
