Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s emotional post on their Puja release melted hearts. This Puja, Shiboprosad, along with Nandita Roy, directed Bohurupee. Every film is like a child to its director. From its inception to the shooting and postproduction – every stage involves the labour of the crew and cast. Bohurupee is no exception. On top of the rigour, there was an accident.

Shiboprosad, who is also part of the cast in Bohurupee, met with an accident while shooting. He sustained back injuries and as a result, he was admitted to a hospital for a few days. The shooting got stalled for his injury.

Bohurupee is based on a true story. Shiboprosad posted a photo on his social media with the clapstick. The director wrote in the caption, “Bohurupee was conceived in 2012. There was a wait of 12 years. At last, the shooting ended. Shooting of 32 days, 78 locations, and relentless labor of the unit members. Sometimes storms, sometimes rain, and sometimes 45-degree temperature – they worked with all these. There were accidents, then waiting, and then the comeback. Everything was possible for your love and the blessing of Ma Annapurna. See you during Puja on the big screen. We will try to fill your heart.”

The film stars Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, and Koushani Mukherjee in the important roles. The film’s background spans between 1998 and 2003. The story is based on a significant event that happened in West Bengal at that time. Shiboprosad previously said that the characters involved in the incident are still alive.

Shiboprosad had a serious accident in April during the shooting. It was heard that he jumped from high in an action sequence and was injured in the waist. He was promptly taken to a hospital and a bone crack was detected. He was discharged on April 8. Then the team went back to shooting.
