‘Sherni’ producers reveal what makes Vidya Balan the perfect fit for the film

Vidya Balan will soon be seen in the avatar of a forest officer in her upcoming film titled Sherni which will stream on Amazon Prime Video from June 18, 2021,

One of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood, Vidya Balan is known for the bold choices she has made in her career. Whether it is playing Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture or Vidya Bagchi in Kahaani, a mathematician in her last outing Shakuntala Devi or an RJ in Tumhari Sulu, the actress has time and again surprised fans with her exceptional talent. Carving a niche for herself, she has taken up roles that other actors would have shied away from.

It was Vidya’s versatility and dedication towards the craft and her passion to play a variety of characters that convinced producers Bhushan Kumar & Vikram Malhotra to choose her for Amit Masurkar’s Sherni. In this film, based on the man-animal conflict, Vidya plays a forest officer

Producer, Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment, calling Vidya an exceptional actor, adds that her fan base is a result of the versatility and quality she has displayed as a performer for over 16 years. Sharing that it was the on-shoot experience of Shakuntala Devi, where the actress owned the role like no other, impressed him a lot. Reportedly, she was the first and the only choice for Sherni.

Bhushan Kumar from T-Series, exclaimed that the Tumhari Sulu experience with Vidya was nothing short of wonderful. Ravishing praises on her love for the craft, Kumar finds it great fun to work with and learn from Vidya. He also added that she is a favourite for both producers and directors.

Sherni, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra and Amit Masurkar, will stream on Amazon Prime Video on June 18, 2021.
