Shehzada is the Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
After 56 days of its theatrical release, Shehzada is all set for its OTT premiere. The lead actors Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon announced the Netflix release date of the film, and surprisingly, the film will drop at midnight. Yes, Shehzada is premiering on the OTT giant on April 14, 2023. Netflix India also shared the trailer for the film, which is directed by Rohit Dhawan. Kartik also made his debut as a producer with Shehzada.
Brat Films, Geetha Arts, Haarika & Hassine Creations, and T-Series Films are responsible for producing the action-comedy Shehzada. The movie, which also stars Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Rajpal Yadav, Ronit Roy, and Sachin Khedekar, is a remake of the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
In Shehzada, since Bantu (Kartik Aaryan) was a little child, his father, Valmiki (Paresh Rawal), has loathed and ignored him. His supervisor, Samara (Kriti Sanon), is the first to offer him love and affection before he realises that the Jindals, not Valmiki, are his biological parents. Bantu then makes the decision to seek out his birth parents' affection and defend them from the dangers they are in.
Due to the popularity of Pathaan Shehzada was released in theatres one week earlier than planned, on February 17, 2023, as opposed to its original release date of February 10, 2023. Critics gave the movie negative reviews, and it was a financial flop.
Shehzada marked the second outing of Kartik and Kriti on the big screen after Luka Chuppi which was released in 2019. The actors stepped into the shoes of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde, respectively, in the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
It was reported that Shehzada would premiere on Netflix last week; however, it seems like Netflix decided to make it a festive release on their OTT platform on April 14, 2023.
