Directed by Rohit Dhawan and starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, Shehzada dropped miserably on its first Monday.
Shehzada, the most recent film starring actor Kartik Aaryan, failed the crucial Monday test at the box office. Only Rs 2.5 crores were brought in by Shehzada on Monday, claims industry tracker Sacnilk. The movie received lukewarm reviews upon release and generated Rs 6 crore on the first day. The movie made Rs 6.65 crore and Rs 7.35 crore on the second and third days, respectively. At this time, a total of Rs 22.70 crore has been collected.
Along with Kriti Sanon, Ronit Roy, Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, and Sachin Khedekar, the movie is directed by Rohit Dhawan. Shehzada is the official Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapuramulu.
Kartik was heralded as Bollywood's next big thing after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2's breakthrough last year. One of the relatively few Hindi films that performed well at the box office in 2022 was Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. At the end of its debut weekend, the horror comedy made Rs 55 crore, and it brought in Rs 185 crore overall in India. Sadly, Shehzada could'nt spread the same charm at the ticket window.
Kartik's debut film as a producer is Shehzada. The actor previously disclosed that he had decided to forego his salary for the film. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which is currently holding strong at the box office in its fourth week, are the big competitors to Shehzada.
