Shehnaaz Gill was in conversation with actress Rakul Preet Singh for her latest released film Chhatriwali, streaming on ZEE5
Actress Shehnaaz Gill says that she was one of those students in her class during her school days who were interested in knowing more about reproductive system and one she even got scold by her teacher when she asked for a practical class for the same.
Shehnaaz was in conversation with Rakul Preet as part of her latest released film Chhartriwali which talks about the importance of sex education in school.
They were chatting in the new episode of Desi Vibes, hosted by Shehnaaz, who is became popular after participating in the reality show Bigg Boss 13 and Punjabi films like Sat Shri Akaal England, Kala Shah Kala, Daaka, Honsla Rakh among others.
Recalling one of her memories in school regarding sex education class, Shehnaaz said, "As far as reproduction is concerned I used to enjoy a lot in class."
She also mentioned that the chapter on reproduction used to be only interesting subject in science that she was interested in.
"Each time the chapter (of reproduction) came up, I would be all ears. One day, while the teacher was teaching, I asked ‘Ma’am can we do practical?’" said Shehnaaz.
But she got quite the obvious reaction to such demand as the teacher replied, "Shut up!"
Rakul quickly said that such discouraging answers at times put students under pressure and that talk on sex education should be normalised.
"I think society would change when teachers' approach towards the subject and how it’s addressed at home changes," said Rakul who is playing the character of Sanya Dhingra a teacher in her film Chhatriwali.
The film is directed by Tejas Deoskar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
The film is also featuring - Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik, Satish Kaushik, Rajesh Tailang and Rakesh Bedi among others.
The film is streaming on Zee5. Shehnaaz will be making her Bollywood debut in Salman Khan's next film.
