The actress will play a woman rearing a Jallikattu bull in it
Sheela Rajkumar has created a fan base with her unique choice of films and performances. The actress, who shot to fame with her performances in critically-acclaimed films like To let, which went on to bag many international awards and Mandela that became the talk of the town, now has a slew of projects in her kitty.
Sheela has become one of the most sought-after actresses among directors and producers, who have strong female characters in mind and those who have projects based on realistic subjects. After experimenting with films and TV serials like Azhagiya Tamizh Magal, Sheela is now taking the plunge into web series. She will soon appear in a series directed by Vetri Maaran.
The actress says, “Vetrimaaran sir is producing a web series titled Petta Kaali, which is helmed by Annanukku Jai director Rajkumar. Merku Thodarchi Malai fame Antony plays the lead in it. The series revolves around Jallikattu, and my character in the film rears a Jallikattu bull. The star cast includes Kalaiyarasan, Kishore, Vela Ramamoorthy and others. Cinematography for the series is by Velraj, and music is by Santhosh Narayanan."
Sheela is also part of a project that delves into domestic violence and child trafficking. "Golisoda fame Raja has ventured into production with this film. 8 Thottakkal and Jiivi actor Vetri is playing the protagonist and I am the leading lady in it. The film, directed by Krishna Annamalai, revolves around domestic violence against women and child trafficking that are plaguing the society. Krishna Kurup and Ratsasan Saravanan are also part of the star cast.``
Sheela also has two more projects in Tamil and is part of the Malayalam film Bermuda, directed by Rajeev Kumar. Sheela says that she has been receiving many offers after Mandela in which she shared screen space with Yogi Babu.
"I feel blessed and elated for having been a part of such an amazing movie, which was a major shot in the arm for my acting career. It’s good to hear people say that they are eager to watch my forthcoming movies after they were impressed with my performance in Mandela. I am also excited like them and I am keeping my fingers crossed for the success of my forthcoming releases. The movies that were made during the Corona second wave, are scheduled for release shortly,” she informs.
