The news of Mithun Chakraborty’s illness made his fans anxious about his health. While shooting for the film Shastri, Mithun felt unwell on February 10. He was promptly admitted to a hospital where the doctors said that he had a brain stroke. The producer of the film Soham chakraborty drove the actor to the hospital. Many Tollywood personalities went to the hospital to meet him. The state BJP leadership came, and PM Narendra Modi asked about Mithun’s health over the phone. Mithun was discharged from hospital on February 12. He took a rest for a few days at his sister's place in Kolkata. On Monday, he returned to Shastri's shooting after getting fully recovered.

OTTplay reported that the actor will be back on the sets on February 19. It was initially decided that Mithun would start on February 22. But he could not shoot for two days because of being hospitalized. Hence, he gave his word that he would return to shooting on February 19. Mithun arrived at the floor on Monday at about 10 am with a broad smile on his face.

There were concerns over Shastri after Mithun fell ill. But people were happy and relieved when Mithun joined work on Monday. Sources said that on the first day, the shooting was done according to Mithun's wishes. He was provided ample rest also. The director of Shastri Pathikrit Basu is happy to again work with Mithun. He told Anandabazar Online, “Mithunda started with new vigour. We are elated to see him. We already shot two scenes on Monday.”
Actor Rajatabha Dutta was on the floor with Mithun. Mithun was also happy to return to the floor. He talked to everyone and asked how they were keeping on. The makers had to replan the shooting schedule after Mithun got ill. The shooting will go on till March 1. The film is set to be released during Durga Puja.
