The wildly-popular entrepreneurial reality show, Shark Tank, is all set to get an Indian adaptation. It will air on Sony Entertainment TV and on their OTT platform, SonyLiv, as announced by the channel on their social media.

The show is based around the idea of entrepreneurs pitching their business idea to ‘sharks’ aka investors and the latter decide whether they want to back the idea or not.

Sony TV dropped the trailer with the Hindi caption that read - World’s no. 1 business reality show Shark Tank is coming to India. Here sharks, the experienced businessmen will size up your business idea, carve it and make it huge.

The trailer features a man with a business idea, who receives unsolicited advice from everyone in his circle - from his father to his friends - discouraging him from following through with the idea.

Subsequently, Sony TV also released a video, describing the registration process. Budding entrepreneurs will have to download the SonyLive application on their devices and fill in their details along with their business idea in detail for a chance to be chosen to share the national stage and pitch their ideas.

The show first aired on ABC in August 2009 and has had a successful run for the past 12 years. It was recently renewed for its 13th season.
