Even though Shark Tank India concluded its first season earlier this month, the audiences are still not over the show, which became a huge hit after its premiere in December 2021 on Sony LIV.

Ashneer Grover, who was one of the ‘sharks’ of the show, has now opened up about the abusive comments and trolls that he has to deal with, on a daily basis. Talking about the fame and success of the show to Rohan Joshi in the latter’s YouTube channel, he said, “I get abused a lot. Even now, I get up at 3 am and sneakily delete abusive comments from my social media.”

The entrepreneur also added that when he blocks people, he makes sure to select the option that allows him to block the person’s account as well as any future accounts that the user will make.

The interview also had Ashneer at his sarcastic self, especially when he talked about taking selfies with people. The ‘shark’ said sometimes he has to smile at two cameras, leaving him confused. If someone wants a selfie, get it with a pretty actress, he added.

Shark Tank India, which is based on the American show Shark Tank, lets aspiring entrepreneurs pitch business ideas to a panel of market leaders aka ‘sharks’, who can invest in the product or company and also mentor them for equity stakes in their company.

Apart from Grover, who is the managing director and co-founder of BharatPe, other sharks on the show included Aman Gupta (co-founder and chief Marketing officer of boAt), Anupam Mittal (founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Namita Thapar (executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (CEO and co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (co-founder and CEO of Lenskart) and Ghazal Alagh (Co-founder and chief Mama of MamaEarth).
