The Shaadi.com founder and CEO spoke of how he had invested in some deals solely due to FOMO(fear of missing out).
Shark Tank India is gearing up to return for another season of giving wings to the dreams of up-and-coming entrepreneurs across the country. Anupam Mittal had won hearts of many of the show’s fans with his business savvy and charming demeanour, so naturally many hoped to see the businessman grace the show once again for its second season. Although Mittal’s presence as a judge on the show’s new season is yet to be confirmed, the businessman seems to have a clear idea on what not to do if he does come back.
In conversation with The Indian Express, the Shaadi.com founder and CEO admitted that he had made a few ‘mistakes’ while being a judge on the show’s first season. Mittal said that before going on the show, he had a clear idea about the kind of companies he wanted to invest in, as he had been investing for quite a while at that point.
But during his stint on the show, the businessman had found himself investing in some deals solely due to FOMO or fear of missing out. He spoke of how he had been caught up in the heat of the moment, comparing it to ‘gambling fever’, which ultimately led to investments in companies which were not quite right for him. “It’s more like who’s going to win. I don’t want to do that, as I made a couple of those mistakes”, he said.
Mittal also revealed that he would also like to do more solo deals on the show as well, if he found himself back for the second season. Despite the fact that he was well aware that he had initiated the discussion that led to multi shark deals, he wanted to stick to doing deals on his own as well.
All episodes of the first season of Shark Tank India can be streamed on SonyLIV.
