Anoushka Jolly entered the tank with her pitch for her anti-bullying app called Kavach
Shark Tank India provided a stage for entrepreneurs all over the country to pitch their brands and businesses. The tank also witnessed several young people, who were bitten by the business bug and did not let their age or lack of experience stop them from making a foray into the business world. One among them is a 13-year-old student, Anoushka Jolly.
Jolly entered the tank with an innovative pitch to help solve an issue close to her heart. The young entrepreneur introduced the sharks to her anti-bullying app called Kavach. Through the mobile app, students as well as parents could anonymously report any incidents of bullying, so that the school authorities can take necessary actions against it. Jolly said she wanted to establish a powerful network of anti-bullying ambassadors.
She talked about how she was inspired to develop the app after she experienced and witnessed instances of bullying in her school. These experiences led her to set up Anti Bullying Squad or ABS, connecting various social organisations, educational institutions and experts as well. She then decided to develop a digital platform to tackle the issue as well.
In a conversation with PTI, the student of Pathways School, Gurugram, mentioned how numerous instances of bullying do not get resolved as they remain unreported. In development for over three years, the app also helps in educating people about the issue and also sells anti-bullying merchandise.
On the Shark Tank India show, Jolly received an investment worth Rs 50 lakhs from Anupam Mittal and Aman Gupta.
In addition to Mittal and Gupta, Ashneer Grover, Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh also served as judges on the episode of season one of the show.
Shark Tank India can be streamed on SonyLIV.
