Shark Tank India: Watch these entrepreneurs say no to a rare investment offer from all five sharks

Of the over 100 pitches that Shark Tank India witnessed on its stage, there were more than a few which were made memorable, either due to the impact of the contestants, or the responses from the sharks. As entrepreneurs, both seasoned and hopeful, took the stage to vie for investments and it came as no surprise that some moments brought about friction between them and the sharks, some of which also gave rise to the hilarious memes that the show has spawned.

One such memorable pitch came from entrepreneur duo, Rohan Rehani and Nitin Vishwas, co-founders of Moonshine Meadery, touted to be one of the country and continent’s first-ever mead brands. Sony recently unveiled a new clip of their pitch on the show, which includes some never-before-seen footage as well.

Rehani and Vishwas had initially asked for Rs. 80 lakhs for a 5% stake in the company, which led to a very interesting counteroffer from the sharks. The duo got an offer which showcased a very rare moment indeed, where all five sharks wanted to jump in on a deal together for 2.5% equity. The contestants were given time to deliberate on the offer, and when they did, the sharks were in for quite a shock.

Their rejection of the sharks’ initial offer and the counteroffer they put forth elicited strong reactions from the judges, to say the least. While Vineeta Singh called it ‘insulting’, Anupam Mittal sarcastically said that their aim of using Shark Tank to promote their brand definitely worked, and went so far as tearing a cheque in front of them as well.
