Shark Tank India is easily the most-talked-about India show at this point. Jugaadu Kamlesh was recently in the news after Peyush Bansal (founder, Lenskart) shared an update on the entrepreneur's idea. Now another contestant who has achieved viral status is Sairaj Gaurish Dhond but not just for his pitch.
In a snippet that is making the rounds on the Indian internet, Namita Thapar (executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals) remarks that Dhond looks like Singham director Rohit Shetty.
Dhond's (the founder of Wakao Foods) pitch impressed the judges, so much so that he secured a Rs 75 lakh for 21% equity from Ghazal Alagh (co-founder of MamaEarth), Vineeta Singh (founder of SUGAR Cosmetics) and Thapar.
As is usual to the show, the judges exchanged some light-hearted banter with the contestant. Thapar asked Dhond, "You look like Rohit Shetty. Do people tell you that?"
Dhond's company produces mock meat products made out of jackfruit, which he claims is a "superfood."
The Shark Tank India panel also includes Aman Gupta (co-founder of boAt), Anupam Mittal (founder of Shaadi.com) and Ashneer Grover (co-founder of BharatPe).
The show is streaming on SonyLIV.
