When Ridhima Arora came on the show, viewers saw an intelligent, tenacious woman who gave an impressive pitch of her Ayurvedic food brand, Namhya Foods. Behind the contestant’s business journey lies an inspiring start of how taking care of a loved one led her to build a brand worth crores today.

In conversation with Mint, Arora revealed how she left her job at a telecom company to take care of her ailing father, who was battling liver cirrhosis. As her father’s condition got worse, Arora decided to drastically change his diet. The businesswoman had got rid of foods with any preservatives and included ayurvedic mixtures and locally sourced food in his diet. To start her company, Arora had sought out and made a compilation of Ayurvedic recipes which were passed on for generations. She also got certified with a course on Ayurvedic medicine. Her brand now produces a variety of Ayurvedic products including teas, lattes, cereals and more.
