Lenskart CEO and founder, Peyush Bansal recently hosted lunch for Shark Tank contestant Jugaadu Kamlesh and his cousin Naru and a small party at his residence in Delhi. Bansal was impressed with their pitch and had invested in their startup on the reality show, which had its finale recently.
The business reality show, Shark Tank India helped many startups get investments from successful entrepreneurs. One of them was Kamlesh. He impressed sharks and many fans of the show alike with his idea of a hand-drawn cart for farmers. Kamlesh was accompanied by his cousin Naru on the show. Their honest presentation and beautiful smiles won the hearts of the sharks. Bansal invested ₹10 lakh in their business KG Agrotech for a 40 per cent equity. He also offered a ₹20 lakh loan at a zero per cent interest rate.
The Lenskart founder recently took to social media and shared a video, revealing that Kamlesh and his cousin Naru have arrived in Delhi from Malegaon that morning and that they met over lunch to decide the future course of the venture. They have planned to rope in a designer to work on the model for their cart. The trio then headed to Bansal's house for a small terrace party. They were joined by Bansal's wife Nimisha. The video was shared by Kamlesh on YouTube.
In the video, Bansal is seen panning the camera towards Kamlesh and Kamlesh is seen in the frame, saying, "Majaa aara hai." Bansal adds that they have worked on the cart model and now, Kamlesh will go out to sell some products to farmers. He believes Kamlesh is a ‘phenomenal salesman’.
In January, Bansal had shared a post about Kamlesh's pesticide cart. He congratulated him and said that they have now a long way to go and have a lot of work to do. “Request everyone's best wishes in making this a success and transforming the life of our farmers. We will keep you posted on our progress and hope to do something big and impactful... I am honoured to be part of this awesome team and company. Lots to learn, lots to fail, lots to win,” he further wrote in his post.
