Namita Thapar revealed that her Hindi was not the best before joining the show and had trouble keeping up with fellow sharks
Shark Tank India is still one of the most popular shows among Indian audiences, even though the first season wrapped up last month. Namita Thapar, one of the show’s judges or sharks, has now revealed interesting information about the show and her comfort level with Hindi.
Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ co-founder, Namita Thapar in an interview with Tanmay Bhatt, Rohan Joshi, and Sahil Shah, revealed that she used to look up the meaning of Hindi words used by her fellow sharks.
“My Hindi was very poor before joining the show, and Ashneer and Anupam have contributed significantly to improve my Hindi. The kind of words they were using, my god!,” she said.
A curious Rohan Joshi asked the ‘Pharma Queen’ what are the two different words that they have taught her, to which Aman Gupta, a fellow shark replied, “The words are Tehzeeb and Doglapan.”
The former co-founder of BharaPe, Ashneer Grover and Shaadi.com founder, Anupam Mittal use a lot of Hindi on the show to speak to the contestants on Shark Tank India. “Ye sab Doglapan” is something Grover used constantly, and is now also a popular meme.
Thapar and Gupta have also revealed why they are seen wearing the same clothes in multiple episodes of the show. Gupta also says that they offered money to the producers in hope of a costume change but it did not work with the makers.
