Grover took insult when a certain contestant on the show mentioned how he was keen on a deal with Aman Gupta and Vineeta Singh
Shark Tank India has inspired many in the country it seems. For up-and-coming businesspersons, the show gave them the push they need to chase after their entrepreneurial dreams. The show also gave rise to an unexpected phenomenon as well - some hilarious Shark Tank-themed memes. Of all the sharks, Ashneer Grover’s comments seemed to make the best kind of ‘meme material’. The BharatPe managing director and co-founder made a name for himself as someone who says it like it is, rarely mincing words while criticising some of the pitches on the show. One such pitch inspired a popular comment from the shark that became immortalised in a series of hilarious memes - the ‘doglapan’ comment.
Sulay Lavsi, founder of innerwear brand Bummer, made his pitch for a sustainable underwear brand that certainly got sharks talking. His appealing, yet intelligent presentation and out of the box business ideas earned him favour. Until, that is, when it came to questioning from the sharks. Aman Gupta had more than a few questions for the young entrepreneur, one of which was why he wanted a shark on board despite his brand already having other investors. Lavsi replied that he was specifically keen on getting a deal from Gupta and Vineeta Singh, saying the duo had ‘cracked the code’ when it came to the marketplace. While the two and Anupam Mittal laughed it off, Grover was less than pleased.
‘Do you want an offer, or an offer from specific people?’, questioned the businessman, and then asked if Lavsi was a founder or if he came on the show for ‘help’. Grover went on to say he never wait around for anyone to help him out when building his company, valued at billions. While Singh tried to defend Lavsi, Mittal accused Grover of ‘childishness’. And finally Grover shot his now popular ‘Yeh sab doglapan hain’ comment during his outburst.
