Alagh is the co-founder of MamaEarth
A lot of good things have come out of Shark Tank India, both for contestants and the judges alike. Aspiring entrepreneurs who came on the show found the leg-up they needed for their businesses from the expert sharks, in the form of both investment and advice. And the sharks became household names as the show soared in popularity. But it seems that there were also a few flipsides to the show and one of the sharks, MamaEarth co-founder, Ghazal Alagh opened up about what they were.
In a conversation with Raj Shamani, the businesswoman said she loved being a part of such an interesting show, although, her time on the same was short. Alagh, who was pregnant at the time she filmed her episodes, said that she appeared in a total of eight or nine episodes. She said that she especially enjoyed when the judges conversed with each other backstage or on the stage after the contestants left, calling their banter with each other ‘fun’.
Alagh also talked about what, from her perspective, was the ‘worst part’ of the show - the still shoots. She said how it did not involve any use of their ‘brains’ at all and all they had to do was to pose their bodies in different ways, which annoyed her. The businesswoman also revealed that she did have a few regrets on the show, as she made investments in certain businesses, which disappointed her later.
In addition to Alagh, the other judges on the show include Ashneer Grover, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal and Peyush Bansal. The show is hosted by Rannvijay Singha.
Shark Tank India is available to stream on SonyLIV.
