Anupam Mittal
Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com is also one of the judges on Shark Tank India. He has now opened up about physical and mental fitness and shared his thoughts about how it has a correlation between body and mind.
Anupam said that he started his fitness quest as a teenager/college student merely to look nice. Talking to moneycontrol, he stated “If I look back at my life, the worst periods have been when I was not working out or wasn’t physically fit. There is a correlation for sure.”
The businessman also said that he has included other forms of activities such as running, tennis, yoga, swimming, and martial arts into his regimen.
He talked about his work timings, why he does not really play tennis as often as he used to, and how he has been temporarily not practicing martial arts because he injured his shoulder a few months back. Anupam, on the other hand, lifts weights three days a week and does effective workouts with them, goes for a daily walk three times a week, and practises yoga five days a week.
When asked about the most difficult hurdles he faced, Anupam mentioned how his injuries prevent him from doing a lot of activity. While talking about his exercise regimen, he also discussed how he carried out his workout during the lockdown.
He added “That was the most amazing part. We have all these preconceived notions that we need weights, a gym, a swimming pool and so on to exercise. In the pandemic, we had access to none of it. I found a trainer who trained me on WhatsApp and all that I needed was three resistance bands and my terrace.”
Anupam also revealed how becoming a more active person has helped him become a stronger leader at the workplace. He said that the average age of his company is 25 and that in order to stay on top, he needs significant concentration. Adding that this helps him think clearly, he said that exercising in the morning helps him be calm, cool and collected as well as maintain a better work-life balance.
When asked about his fitness goals, the businessman said he intends to be on the front page of a Health and Fitness magazine.
The entrepreneur also said that reading books helps him to unwind and take care of his mental health. He added that he spends half his time around his daughter and called it the most calming activity he does.
