In one of the recent episodes of the show Shark Tank India, 'shark' Aman Gupta gets annoyed at an entrepreneur who was pitching his idea and called him Anupam, mistaking him for a fellow shark Anupam Mittal. He then called the pitcher a 'confused sperm,' which left the other sharks rolling with laughter.

The incident happened on Tuesday night's episode. A team of two entrepreneurs came on the show and pitched their business Growfitter. It is a fitness tracking app that also sells health insurance to people. During the pitch, four out of five investors backed out from funding the project as they did not like the business idea and the model. It then fell upon the boAt co-founder and CMO Aman Gupta to either shoot them down or help with the investment.

Gupta said, "I like your energy but your business model is confused like there is confused sperm." His dialogue got all the other sharks laughing. BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover said, "This was in Vicky Donor," referring to the debut film of Ayushmann Khurrana. But the entrepreneurs continued to try and convince Gupta about their idea. While doing so, the pitcher mistakenly referred to Gupta as Anupam. He immediately responded angrily, "Kya bola mujhe (What did you call me)?" After he realised what he had just done, he apologised to the potential investor. Aman smiled and said that he was just messing with him. He added, "The names are confusing. Not a big deal." He then makes a conditional offer of Rs 50 lakh for 2 per cent equity.

Shark Tank India is the official adaptation of the American show Shark Tank. It is a business reality show where budding entrepreneurs present their business pitches to a panel of investors or ‘sharks’, who decide if they would like to invest their money, time and expertise to help them and their company succeed.

The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television on weekdays at 9 pm. Season 1 of the show is nearing its end. The finale of the show is scheduled for February 4. Apart from Aman, the panel features Ashneer Grover, BharatPe co-founder; Anupam Mittal, Shaadi.com founder and CEO; Namita Thapar, executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Vineeta Singh, CEO and co-founder of SUGAR Cosmetics; Peyush Bansal, CEO and co-founder of Lenskart; and Ghazal Alagh, co-founder of MamaEarth.
