Clockwise from top: Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Anupam Mittal, and Namita Thapar.
Season 3 of Shark Tank, Sony LIV's business reality TV series, is currently in the news almost every day. Earlier today, the show's makers released a promotional video that had pitches from three different brands who aimed to secure deals on the show.
At the beginning of the promo, we see the pitcher of the brand Polish Me Pretty, making a stylish entry. The brand presents itself as the "cutest, most affordable, hand-crafted gel press" for fingernails. “So Sharks, why wear your hearts on your sleeves when you can wear your personality on your fingertips?” says the pitcher. She further says that the brand sells over 200 shades of nail colours and the ‘fake’ nails can be customised according to the preferences of the customer.
Anupam Mittal tried to on one of the products and Vineeta joked, saying, “Beyonce lag rahe ho” (you look like Beyonce). Later, Vineeta pointed out rather sternly that the packaging of the product had about 6-7 spelling mistakes.
Anupam Mittal then asked the pitcher how she plans to grow in the market considering the niche market of her products. “Main queen ban jaungi iss market ki. (I will become the queen of this market),” said the pitcher.
Meanwhile, the second pitch was by a brand named ‘Uncle Peter Pancakes’. As the brand name suggests, the company prepares and sells fresh pancakes to customers.
Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar got an opportunity to taste the delicacies prepared by the pitcher. After taking a bite of the pancake, Namita instantly says, “Yummy”. And Vineeta agrees with Namita.

The third pitch is by 'Gridmats'. The pitchers of this brand feel that their products are innovative and eco-friendly plastic waste, crumb rubber, and cold asphalt-based mats that can be used for making roads and walkways, and fixing potholes in urban India. The pitcher later revealed their sales and unit economics data. Peyush Bansal, a Shark on the show, did not agree with the statistical figures presented by the pitchers.
Only time will tell which brand manmages to secure a deal on the show.
