The second season of Shark Tank India will start next week. During a recent round of interviews, investor Anupam Mittal said that when giving feedback to entrepreneurs, one had to draw a line. A portion of the audience criticised the show's first season for being cruel to some of its contestants. A few of them even expressed their displeasure after the season was over.

Anupam noted that the second season will be more "sharky" in a conversation with Film Companion, but he also emphasised that there is a distinction between insulting someone and offering them helpful criticism. Some people found Ashneer Grover, an ex-shark, disrespectful because of his direct criticism in the previous season. He once instructed a businesswoman making a pitch to make a mop out of the garments she was selling because he thought they were so terrible. In the interview, Anupam said that some team members were given a lot of freedom last year. The entrepreneur revealed he won't mention any particular sharks, but his team and he allowed a lot of people room to maneuver during several pitches last year. One might observe a slight shift in that this year.

Anupam went on to explain that just because someone has a faulty concept doesn't make them a horrible person. He said that he thinks there is a difference between criticizing someone and insulting them. No matter how horrible one's idea, business, or business plan may be, they are still not a bad person. Because this is Season 2, Anupam draws the line at criticizing one's company, concept, and plan to make them face reality and hold a mirror up to themselves. Anyone who humiliates someone is unacceptable, and they have no business being a part of Shark Tank.

Anupam Mittal, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, and Vineeta Singh are back for Shark Tank India 2. This year, Amit Jain has been added to the panel.
