Ranbir Kapoor starrer Shamshera is the highly anticipated movie of the year. Makers have just dropped the trailer of the film, which also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in major roles. The Karan Malhotra directorial marks Ranbir's come-back in films after a four-year gap. He was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju.
Talking about Shamshera and his come-back after a long period of time and making such huge films, Ranbir said at the recent trailer launch, "Eventually, we have worked really hard. On this (Shamshera) we have spent 2-5 years and in Brahmastra so many years went by. Eventually, when the movie Sanju was being made, there were a lot of apprehensions that how will I play this character and how will I pull it off. But it's really not about me, it's a collective of so many people coming together.
He further added, "Making a movie is not easy. If everyone has a formula then everyone would have been Mukesh Ambani, but nobody is. So it is a challenge, it is a big risk that you have to take and especially when you do such a big budget and high-octane action entertainer like Shamshera. But there is no fun without risk. So, I hope that the audience likes it, I hope that they get entertained and it's the only endeavour that audience should like such films."
Shamshera revolves around a young and fun tribal boy, who grows up to become a dacoit. However, learning about the good deeds of his deceased father he pledges to fight for his people and the freedom of his tribe from the British. In order to do so, he has to go to war against a ruthless general Shudh Singh.
The latest trailer of Shamshera showcases how Ranbir turns into a saviour from a dacoit for his people and battles it out against Sanjay, while Vaani helps the hero along with his other group members including Saurabh Shukla and others.
