Shamshera new poster: Vaani Kapoor is the 'golden girl' in Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt's period drama

After unveiling the fierce character posters of Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, the makers of Shamshera have finally unveiled Vaani Kapoor's first look from the movie. Backed by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, the epic drama flick is directed by Karan Malhotra.

The latest poster features Vaani sporting a golden look, with a shimmery attire, which goes well with her name Sona. The production giant shared the image on the official Instagram handle and called the actress, 'The golden girl - SONA!' in the captions.

The post also unveils that the trailer of Shamshera is all set to release tomorrow.

Talking about her character the Bollywood diva said in a recent statement that her character, Sona, is the most sought after travelling performer in India in the 1800s. "I have always chosen roles where my character pivots the script in a certain direction and in Shamshera too, Sona plays an important role in building the narrative," she added.

She further mentioned that Sona is a go-getter and has strong willpower and confidence, however, she is emotionally vulnerable. According to Vaani, Sona is definitely one of the most refreshing characters of hers and the actress is also thrilled to collaborate with Ranbir.

Shamshera follows the late of a fictitious place called the city of Kaza, which was ruled by general Shudh Singh, who was a ruthless authoritarian and used to enslave and torture the local tribe. The story chronicles the journey of a person called Shamshera from becoming a slave to a legend for his tribe. He fights for the freedom and dignity of his people.

Apart from Sanjay, Ranbir and Vaani, the high-octane thriller also has Ashutosh Rana, Saurabh Shukla, Ronit Roy, Tridha Choudhury and Pitobash Tripathy in key roles.

Shamshera, which marks Ranbir's come-back to Bollywood after 4 years, is all set to hit cinemas on July 22.
