Shakalaka Shankar is making concerted efforts to carve his niche as a performer with a flurry of projects both as a lead and a comedian. He has recently headlined a film titled The Boss, a story revolving around a godman, directed by Eswar Babu Dhulipudi. The film's story and screenplay is written by the producer Bommaku Murali himself, who has bankrolled the project under Bommaku Creations.

The title logo was launched by actor, comedian Sunil today. Based on the idea of a maverick filmmaker, on the lines of Ram Gopal Varma, turning a godman, The Boss, comes with a caption 'Never Dies'. RGV's face is also an integral part of the logo, where one can notice the motifs of fire and women as well. The Boss has already wrapped up its shoot, post production formalities and is headed for a release soon.

"The film questions several ills within our society and I am confident that Shakalaka Shankar would've played the title role (similar to Ram Gopal Varma) to perfection. I hope The Boss brings name and fame to the producer and the director," Sunil said at the launch. Deborah Fell, Sohiel, Rajasri, Sana, Harshavardhan, Posani Krishna Murali, Lirisha, Pataas Praveen, Punch Prasad and Jabardasth Murali play key roles in it.
