Trailer
The trailer of Shaitaan was launched earlier this year, creating a buzz among netizens. The trailer showcases the demonic transformation of Madhavan’s character. The further narrative deals with the family’s processes of avoiding the monster’s evil means and rescuing themselves from the clutches of the evil.
Release date
The Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan-starrer Shaitaan is set to hit the theatres on March 8, 2024.
Cast
Along with Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, Shaitaan also stars Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala and Anngad Raaj in pivotal roles, along with other supporting cast members.
A remake of a Gujarati film?
Vikas Bahl’s Shaitaan is inspired by the 2023 Gujarati film Vash, directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. The original film starred Janki Bodiwala, who also plays the role of the daughter in Shaitaan. The Gujarati film featured an ensemble cast, including Hitu Kanodia, Niilam Paanchal, Aaryab Sanghvi and Hiten Kumar.
Part 2 in making?
Shaitaan is produced by Ajay and Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak.
During the trailer launch event of Shaitaan, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak revealed that the making of the part two is in talks and that the first part was made in merely forty days. "Part 2 bhi humaare dimaag mein taiyaar hai (Part 2 is also ready in our minds),” he said.
Speaking about the film, Madhavan said, “Frankly we are all nervous about Shaitaan. This is the first time that a bona fide horror film is being made on this level. We’ve given the genre a new classy look and feel. Let’s see how it is welcomed.”
Stunning transformation
Madhavan’s fans also compared the stunning transformation of the actor from 3 Idiots, where he played a college student, to Shaitaan, where he is playing the role of a devil incarnate.
