Shahid Kapoor's Haider 2 is NOT happening, confirms director Vishal Bhardwaj
Shahid Kapoor's buzz cut had led to speculations of Haider 2 being made. However, filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj has confirmed the sequel of the film won't be made.

Ever since Shahid Kapoor has got buzz cut, there have been speculations about Haider 2 being made. Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider recently completed 9 years of its theatrical release. Starring Shahid in the lead role, the film was the modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's Hamlet. As far as Haider 2 is concerned, it is not going to be made.
Vishal Bhardwaj confirms Haider 2 will NOT happen
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Vishal Bhardwaj reacted to the rumours of Haider's sequel. "Shahid ne Baal kata liye, iska yeh matlab thodi Haider 2 ho jayegi. There is no reason to make a second part as Kashmir is in a different stage," he said.

The filmmaker further mentioned, "I am happy to see that people haven’t forgotten the first part of Haider. But, Haider was connected to Kashmir, and right now I don’t have anything to say on Kashmir, so there is no point of Haider 2 right now."

Meanwhile, Bhardwaj's recent OTT release, Khufiya got a mixed response from the audience as well as critics. It marked Tabu's digital debut. The Netflix film dropped on October 5, 2023. It also featured Wamiqa Gabbi and Ali Fazal. The spy-thriller was also produced and written by Vishal.
On the work front for Shahid Kapoor
Shahid has had a fantastic 2023. He made his digital debut with Farzi which premiered on Amazon Prime Video. After his successful web show, the actor did an OTT film Bloody Daddy. Like his previous project, this digital release worked well on JioCinema .
Next, Kapoor will be seen in Dinesh Vijan's untitled next with Kriti Sanon. the film's shoot has been completed. It is set to hit the big screen on February 9, 2024.
