After having started off with humble beginnings as a background dancer, Shahid Kapoor then, went onto become the then Gen-Next superstar in the bubble-gum romance film ‘Ishq Vishq’ in which the petite Amrita Rao was his co-star. The film wont onto become one of the blockbusters of that time. Post which, Shahid Kapoor continued romancing with the camera and silver screen with his chocolate hero roles. But, a few years later, Shahid Kapoor went onto make ‘challenge’ as his middle name. What followed after that were films that just did not defy his chocolate hero roles, but also shocked and surprised everyone about the actor’s diverse spectrum of acting prowess.

This year, Shahid Kapoor’s fans were in for a double treat. The treat was in the form of his two films viz. ‘Farzi’ and ‘Bloody Daddy’. These films no t just anchored itself in the minds and hearts of the cinegoers, courtesy the gripping storyline that was complemented by stellar performances by the cast. As per a report in Ormax, these two Shahid Kapoor starrers went onto register the most-watched numbers in their respective categories.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Shahid Kapoor said, “I have always craved to have the audiences’ respect. I feel once an artist, whether it’s a filmmaker or actor, even a sportsperson, has the people’s respect, they will be able to create consistency in their graph. Things are very unpredictable”.

The ‘Farzi’ actor added that, as an actor, one should not just presume that just because the person is a star, people will like him/ her across the board as it just does not work like that. Shahid said that the audience have become very mature and clear about who they like and that he was keen to see how people respond to him in that space.

On the professional front, Shahid Kapoor will now be seen in an untitled film with Kriti Sanon. The details of the film have been strictly kept under the wraps.
